The Silver Lining Serenaders
Overview
Vintage Jazz, Swing and Western Swing
We specialize in popular music from the 1920's, 30's & 40's with instrumentals as well as songs in English, French & Spanish (a nod to the different music influences in New Orleans through time).
Our group is available from a duo up to a quintet: the core is violin/vocals and guitar/vocals with the option of clarinet or trumpet, upright bass and drums.
We play often for parties and private events as well as at venues around the city. We strive to create the perfect ambience for your event, whether the goal is lively and energetic for dancing or something more relaxed and ambient for chatting/networking, we can curate our selections and volume to fit.

My 70th birthday party was an overwhelming joy for my 40 guests. Nothing made it so memorable as the Silver Lining Serenaders. I couldn't recommend them more.

Kudos to these guys! We were in New Orleans in the middle of an unprecedented snow storm and they still showed up and played our event and sounded great! Very nice to work with and a terrific addition to any event!

Great communication! So easy to book. Showed up early, stayed late, brought the perfect sound equipment. Upbeat and fun. Outstanding music. We had positive comments from every single person in attendance. Our event would not have been the same without them, and we would book them again without hesitation!!

About
The Silver Lining Serenaders are a fun-loving group specializing in vintage jazz and swing as well as Western swing and classic country and old jug band music. Bringing harmonies and fresh arrangements to well-known and more obscure tunes from the first half of the 20th century.
We play a varied repertoire and can curate it to match the feel and mood of the event. We can deliver a show in a swinging Django Jazz/Gypsy Jazz style with vocals inspired by singers such as Billie Holiday, Madeleine Peyroux and Ella Fitzgerald with some song selections in Spanish and French. We are also able to cultivate a more folk-inspired environment providing tunes in the styles of Western swing, fiddle waltzes and 1940’s country as well as some jugband tunes and old rags.
*we are also able to perform purely instrumental without vocals, if requested for a more background/ambient event environment.
Additional booking notes
We can provide our own PA/sound equipment, if needed.
This equipment can be made available for additional use at your event for a fee (ie. MC, speeches etc.)
