Overview
Quarter 'Til is a group of jazz musicians from the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. We cover all styles of jazz music from classic, swing, bebop, hard bop, funk, latin, and contemporary jazz. The group plays original music, as well as standards. With enough notice we would be more than willing to play requested music and even write new music for your event! Our group is used to playing for nearly any type of venue; we will play at weddings, parties, restaurants, clubs, and most anywhere else you would want live jazz music! The band came on time ready to go. They were the perfect background music we had wanted. We opted for the 2 piece band and they were perfect! Will use them again for sure!

Quarter 'Til Quintet did an excellent job in communicating with me immediately after I expressed interest in booking them for my event. I had several special requests as it was a surprise birthday, and Steven Ragsdale accommodated my requests with enthusiasm and honesty.
As soon as I heard their music I was impressed. They are an awesome sounding band. In addition, all the band members were professional and just plain nice. They played a version of Moon River that the birthday girl loved. All my song requests were played beautifully and according to my schedule. Thanks, guys!
I highly recommend Quarter 'Til Quintet. I look forward to hearing them again.

Set list
Our set list is contingent upon what you would like us to play for your event, but it typically consists of jazz standards. These can be standards from the American Songbook, as well as funk and contemporary classics. Many of the tunes we do are our own arrangements of the music, making sure the music is fresh for your ears and very familiar. We also love to learn new music all the time, so if you have any requests prior to the performance, we strongly suggest mentioning them!
Influences and inspiration
Our influences are vast and varied. We play music from a wide range of genres, such as jazz, funk, blues, rock, pop, and contemporary. Some notable influences in our sound might be Herbie Hancock, Kenny Garrett, Robert Glasper, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, and more.
Setup requirements
All we require is a corner with an outlet in your venue, and some people to listen and enjoy the music!
