The Pet-Friendly Jazz Collective features jazz classics from composers such as Miles Davis, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Eddie Harris mixed in with pop hits from Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. The group is an expandable jazz ensemble starting as small as 2 pieces with guitar and duo and can be as big as 9 pieces with a full horn section. Typically the band plays as a quartet with saxophone, guitar, bass and drums.

Born out of the uncertainty of pandemic life, the Pet-Friendly Jazz Collective began as an attempt to bring an organic musical experience to front porches around Denver. Captained by the drum/guitar duo of Calvin Davis and Sam Valdez, Pet Friendly takes advantage of a wealth of local talent, featuring an ever rotating cast of some of the community’s best improvisers. Whether it be the music of Miles Davis or Stevie Wonder, a porch concert, or a private event, trio or octet, our mission will always be to bring the community together around art, provide opportunities for musicians, and to have fun doing it.
