The Ordinary Two
Overview
"...an Indie-Pop dog chewin' on a Jazz bone."
We provide soulful, acoustic, indie music, often with a jazz flavor. It is an excellent fit for restaurants, breweries, jazz clubs, coffee shops, warming up for full bands, or when a quieter-than-full-rock-band is needed.
Most of our songs are original compositions about travel, love, and life. We sprinkle in some cover songs too. Our covers are usually of 1990s to modern alternative/indie songs done in an acoustic or jazz style. Or we might perform a classic jazz song with a modern, indie-pop twist.

July 14, 2022Fantastic Duo with Rich Sounds for Any Event!
We hired the Ordinary Two to perform at our first annual music festival: the Red, White, & Blues Fest. To begin with, communication and negotiations were the simplest I have experienced in my career with events. I was sent samples of their music, pricing, and had instant responses to any questions.
When it came to the actual event, they were very punctual and professional, which eased my mind from the chaos of the rest of the day! They took the stage and put on one heck of a performance! We were simply thrilled with how wonderful they were live. Many of our residents at the event raved about them, so we certainly hope to book them for future events as well.
I was also pleased that they stayed around after the performance and enjoyed the other musicians performing and got to eat, drink, and relax for the afternoon. It really "humanized" them instead of a typical band coming in, performing, demanding payment immediately, and then leaving. They spent time getting to experience our event, and I appreciated their presence.
I cannot say enough positive things about the Ordinary Two! If you're looking to class up any event you may be having, I recommend hiring them without any other thought. I would give 6/5 stars if I could! THANK YOU!

June 27, 2021Great experience
Jim and Tonya are a wonderful team! Their music is wonderful and perfect for a group of all ages. Tonya has a beautiful voice. They were easy to work with, responsive, on time and adaptable (had to set up twice due to outdoor event and rain). Everyone at our event enjoyed the music, perfect choice and I would highly recommend.

About
“...an indie-pop dog chewin’ on a jazz bone.”
Come hear the extraordinary sounds of The Ordinary Two! A duo from Denver, CO whose creation has been a long time in the making. Guitarist Jim Disner, who has shared the stage with jazz greats like Stanley Jordan and Ron Miles, joins his wife, vocalist Tanya Disner, in laid-back, acoustic, indie-pop, with a lot of jazz flavor and sweet vocal harmonies.
Jim fell in love with Tanya when he first heard her sing. Theirs is a story of inspiring love and overcoming odds. Sultry vocals and fancy fretwork spin tales of life, love and the open road in a unique Alternative/Folk/Jazz blend of simultaneously humorous, inspiring, and mournful original songs - along with some unexpected covers. Together they harmonize like only soul-mates can
With the 2018 release of their self-titled EP "The Ordinary Two" the duo began performing across the country, travelling in their DIY-converted camper/touring/mobile studio van they named Werner. In 2019 the touring continued, along with the release of the double-single "Lesser Travelled Road / We're not Gonna Take It".
When the pandemic cancelled all of their shows in 2020, they streamed "Couch Concerts" online. For 13 months they performed from home or wherever they were to keep their sanity. You sit on your couch and they will entertain you! They also kept busy recording and releasing the singles - "When The World Stops Ending", "DMV", and "Find You".
A collaboration EP with the retro-R&B horn-band, Muchly Suchwise, in 2021 brought a new take on three of their songs, also a partial return to live performances.
Their latest studio single, "Change", is a haunting lament of the struggle to stay above the abyss while watching the world change before your eyes. Ever knowing that Love is the answer.
