The Old Woods
Overview
The Old Woods is a three piece psychedelic instrumental band out of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The band originated in 2018 in Crockett, California, formed by then Bay Area songwriter Fred Odell. Before and after a relocation to the East Coast, the album “The Old Woods” was recorded and performed by Fred Odell, and released in March, 2024. In 2024, Fred added drummer Mike Chiarello ( Maik Sea, Lyman) and bassist Brian Temples to the lineup.
Drawing inspiration from classic rock, psych, and desert rock, “The Old Woods” explore sonic landscapes through improvisation and sounds evocative of expansive vistas, vivid dreams, and interstellar space.
