Wow Just Wow

So tonight I went and saw these guys at the mob museum and what a pleasant sound. They actually have a great sound in a pretty entertaining, but I was really surprised at the ego that the lead singer had. Imagine my surprise when I overheard a customer visiting from out of town saying that she would like to sit in or sing with them for a couple of numbers who clearly was a professional singer, and these guys not only insulted her, but I actually tried to charge her to sing with them. I understand the bar pays her time, so why do we need to charge the customers on top of it that are there visiting supporting the band? really that hard up?

What to expect

As a crooner duo, we play jazz standards, show-tunes and some popular covers using piano, trumpet and two vocalists. We've got a set list of about 40-50 songs to choose from (including most popular songs performed by Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, etc.), but we're happy to learn and prepare additional specific songs upon request. We like to sprinkle in some small commentary to keep the mood light and the guests entertained, when appropriate, but we're also happy to simply play the songs if that's preferable.

We do often collaborate with burlesque dancers if you're looking for a more late-night cabaret experience-- we'd be happy to help organize this with some of our partners. Additionally, we are often able to bring in a guitarist for a more full sounding band, although this would slightly increase pricing.

Generally, we're very open to the requests or needs of a client, so feel free to reach out with questions or ideas!

About

Joshua Benitez is a Las Vegas native, playing horn as a young man before delving into the rock scene and later transitioning into jazz and lounge music. He was recently honored as one of "Las Vegas' Most Beautiful People" by L'Vegue Magazine. Evan Doremus grew up in New Orleans, the son of a piano tuner, playing all types of music from marching bands and hip-hop to soulful church music and jazz. In 2016, he moved to Las Vegas where he met Joshua and founded The Old Fashions. Together, they love to play in all types of settings, from art galleries and events to dive bars and street festivals.

Additional booking notes

We do require several electrical outlets, and an existing PA system is preferred for larger venues, although we can provide it for an additional charge. In small, intimate settings it may not be necessary.
