The Mystery Cafe

At our live events: The Mystery Cafe dishes out a hilarious comedy caper, in which your group is invited to solve a crime...all while enjoying a delicious 3-course meal.
Upon arrival, you’ll be seated by members of the cast. The show consists of four acts, in between which you’ll be given a course...and a clue. You’ll also be provided with “Mystery Money,” so you can bribe characters for more information.
The clues point to one answer, and a prize is awarded to our “Super Sleuth” winner. We also give prizes for the most...shall we say...“creative” answer. Right or wrong, you’ll be laughing all the way to the solution. You may not crack the case, but you’ll certainly bust a gut!

Our online show: "Across a Crowded Zoom" is a highly interactive show, in that the killer is a member of your group! You'll work in teams to sniff out the guilty party among you, and there are plenty of laughs along the way. This is a LIVE show, with multiple actors, a hilarious plot that you have a hand in writing!
It's one half comedy show, one half game, and a WHOLE lot of fun.

The Mystery Cafe MN was founded in 1989. For over 30 years, Mystery Cafe has entertained hundreds of corporate groups, and delighted thousands of guests. It was the first, and still considered the best in local interactive dinner theater in the Twin Cities. In 2020, The Mystery Cafe developed a hilarious online show "Across a Crowded Zoom," and are thrilled to bring our comedy entertainment far beyond Minnesotas borders!

For our live events: We provide the 5 P's : Performers, props, programs, pens and prizes. PLUS a production manager and all the necessary tech. We work with the venue of your choice (or help you find one from our list of preferred partnerships), to ensure that the dinner and the show occur seamlessly. Let us help you put together a terrifically entertaining evening!

For our online event: You tell us the date and time - we will send you a Zoom link. After that, all you need to do is log in and enjoy the show. We've done almost a hundred shows since first developing "Across a Crowded Zoom" in 2000; We recognize the reality of "Zoom fatigue." So we have made use of the medium's strengths to create a fast-paced, funny, dynamic, and engaging show. We are happy to say that our guests almost universally tell us that they enjoyed it beyond their expectations. It's a fantastic way to get the team together without, ya know, getting the team together.
