Two-time Forest City London Music Award Winners, Canadian Folk Music Award Nominees (Vocal Group of the Year), Toronto Independent Music Award Nominees (Folk/Roots & Best Music Video), and the winners of Folk Music Ontario’s “Songs From The Heart” competition, The Marrieds are known for their folk-pop-roots sound filled with clever lyrics and sweet harmonies. The husband-wife duo have shared the stage with luminaries including Kathleen Edwards, Rose Cousins, Bahamas, Bedouin Soundclash, The Trews, Danny Michel, Lennie Gallant, Valdy, Ian Thomas, and many others. The Marrieds are preparing for their biggest year yet, with a fifth studio album and a national tour slated for summer 2027.

The Marrieds originally emerged in December 2010 when London, Ontario married couple Jane Carmichael and Kevin Kennedy posted three snow-themed songs to YouTube during the city's infamous "Snowmageddon" — and quickly turned into a full-on project after the tracks went viral and earned national attention as CBC Radio's Sound of the Day. Building on the groundwork laid by folk and roots luminaries from Tom Petty and The Lumineers to Kathleen Edwards and The Civil Wars, The Marrieds craft a warm, poppy folk sound defined by sweet harmonies, playful lyricism, and an emotional directness showcased across several critically acclaimed, award-winning releases and live performances to date. The Marrieds are now preparing for their biggest year yet, with a fifth studio album and a national tour slated for summer 2027.
