What to expect

We are a band that shows up on time, brings all the gear that we need to play the event, sets it up and starts on time. We dress appropriately for the event, and have a good time on stage. We are all seasoned pros and have played just about every event you can think of! There is rarely a problem. We like to have fun with our audience, and especially like for them to dance or sing along.

About

The Maggie Clement Band is a 5-piece classic rock band featuring four lead vocalists. Formed in 2013, it features Maggie Clement on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, husband Clarke Clement on bass, background vocals, sound and recording; Paul Dardo, talented drummer and lead singer, Allen Colom – lead guitarist extraordinaire, and our latest addition, Paul Allison – keyboards.

This band has been in the making much longer than this particular lineup and start date. Clarke and Maggie have played music together since 1982, starting in Nashville where Maggie was a session vocalist and Clarke played bass with a popular rock band, Square Wave. They eventually both played in that band, and Maggie went on to sing for several other groups. They were married in 1986 and moved to Atlanta shortly thereafter. In Atlanta, they formed their own groups including Clarke & The Slammer Girls (3-piece acoustic/harmony), The Mental Notes (Maggie & Clarke duo doing pop and standards), Maggie and The Beats (rock – the Beats received kudos from the Georgia Music Festival and Atlanta Songwriting Association for two of Maggie’s original songs), and Dj vu – a 6-piece harmony group with two ladies up front. The harmonies have always been important to Maggie, and when she decided to front her own band, she and Clarke brought in Paul Dardo, drummer and lead vocalist from Dj vu. With the addition of Allen and John, the goal was to match the considerable talent of all the members by covering harmony infused tunes by Heart, Bonnie Raitt, Allman Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Amy Winehouse, Little Feat , The Beach Boys and more. A recent quote from one of their contemporaries: “ Wow! Love it all !!! The website, the song choices and the sound. You guys rock!! What an advantage you all have with a "sound guy" and "graphic artist" in the band. You can work up a top-notch web site and record all your music at the drop of a hat!!” Which is exactly what they do – live off the soundboard with no overdubs – sometimes in four-part harmony all the way through.

Maggie has sung everything from folk, rock, big band (Big Band Atlanta), and has been able to pull some of the best musicians in Atlanta to come on board for this project.
