The Lucky Sparrow - Mahjong Lessons

I will bring everything you need to learn the game! The set-up includes the mat, racks, tiles, and lamp. I will bring a National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card per player to use during instruction; these can be purchased from me (at cost) afterwards if interested. Each participant will receive a "How to Play American Mahjong" guide and a resource sheet. The only thing you need to provide is a table to play (any standard shape/size should work!) and a group of interested folks!

For me, Mahjong is more than just a game; it's a vibrant social outlet that connects me with friends, old and new. I absolutely love sharing this game with others, watching them learn the patterns, discover the strategy, and fall in love with the game just as I did. It’s an incredible feeling to help someone find their own moment of fun and connection.

I teach per the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules and always let you know if I introduce a table rule (just for fun). While there is no NMJL-sponsored certification, I am a member of the Mahj Life Instructor Guild, committed to continuing my own education on the game, teaching methods, and ensuring students walk away well versed in the game.
