About
Johnathan Lee Iverson
The Last Ringmaster
“Now imagine mesmerizing the crowd with a powerful voice
and the bearing of a superstar.”
– San Francisco Examiner
“The instant he appears…the audience is rapt.”
– Ebony Magazine
Lauded by peers, critics, and fans alike, Johnathan Lee Iverson is a history making and celebrated showman, whose legend began as a stand out member of the then renowned, Boys Choir of Harlem.
Before the age of 18, Iverson shared the stage with the likes of Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, Lena Horne, Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack, Tony Bennett, Luciano Pavarotti, among a host of entertainment’s greatest luminaries. Additionally, he performed for numerous heads of state, including four US Presidents – Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and William Jefferson Clinton. He was also privileged to perform for Nobel Peace Prize recipient and South African President, Nelson Mandela.
Johnathan’s name was etched into the history books when, at only 22 years old he became the youngest and first Black American to don the top hat for a major American circus – Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey The Greatest Show On Earth®. His presence set box office records and garnered him an array of honors – among them, being named one of Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People and being cited as a question on JEOPARDY® twice!
For well over a quarter century, Johnathan Lee Iverson continues to astound Children of All Ages as a celebrated showman - be it on the theatrical stage, the conference convention, or in center ring under the big top. His years of rich experience have not only endeared him as an entertainer, but a much sought after leader and advisor, as evidenced in his roles as Ringmaster and Performance Director for the venerable Circus Vargas, as well as, Chairman of the Board for Omnium: A Bold New Circus.
