And forget the “little grass skirt”. The moment you hear Kaleo's trained voice soar with a Hawaiian chant and experience her sharing this ancient form of storytelling through movement – the Traditional Hawaiian Hula, you will be transformed to the natural heartfelt beauty of Hawai’i and a culture that is all about family and caring for each other.

Kaleo has received extensive training in Hawai'i and on the Mainland from traditional Master Teachers (Kumu Hula) in Hula since the late 80's. She has been performing and sharing Hula for over 30 years throughout the US and Canada for groups and private parties, helping the audience to remember to connect to their heart and to love themselves.

As a professional singer and chanter, she also includes Hawaiian songs and traditional chants as part of her program. She is currently located in Spartanburg in Upstate South Carolina. She also engages the audience to be an active part of the whole experience, through group participation, creating an atmosphere of music, laughter, poignant memories. It creates a deeper sense of community and enhances the the enjoyment for everyone.

Kaleo has been teaching Hula since the early 90's, with her Traditional School of Hula (Hula Halau Pu'uwai O Aloha) now located in Spartanburg. She is also an Artist in Residence with the South Carolina Arts Commission and brings the Hawaiian Culture through Hula to children in the South Carolina school system through grant programs.
