The "Great American Songbook
Overview
The Great American Songbook was the result of the influx of immigrants between 1880 and 1926. Living primarily in the tenement section of NYC they produced musical giants such as Irving Berlin, Ira and George Gershwin and other giants of popular music and movies of the 20th Century. Jerry Karol tells their stories, plays and sings the great songs of this period. He also invites and encourages audience participation.
