The Favorites Jazz Quintet

The Favorites Jazz Quintet Is a traditional jazz combo patterned after some of the famous hard bop jazz quintets of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. We developed a straight ahead sound, reminiscent of the famous jazz quintets lead by Miles Davis, Art Blakey, and Horace Silver. Rooted in bebop, our original music, taken from our two recent CDs “Transitions’” and “Movin’,” touches on several contemporary jazz styles, including Latin jazz, jazz-rock, fusion, smooth jazz, funky jazz, and hip hop jazz. The primary goal of our group is to create and perform music that resonates with all music lovers – the casual jazz listener, the informed jazz aficionado, and those who simply enjoy good music!
