The Divine Messengers

The Divine Messengers was founded and organized in October 1991 by Kevin L. Wheeler Sr. of
Washington DC.
Kevin, patent the group’s name with the US patent and Trademark office in 1993, Kevin also
engaged legal representation to incorporate the group.
The Divine Messengers recorded their first album on the Redemption Records Label entitled
Victory, then the group began touring and traveling throughout the US, performing in all size
venues and performing on several television shows such as the Bobby Jones show and Americas
Top 20 Countdown, just to name a few. The Divine Messengers music was spotlighted and
played on the Walt Baby Love radio station and featured for over 4 weeks.
The Messengers have performed in several venues: The Stone Soul Picnic, The Black Family
Reunion Celebration, The Vickie Winans Quaker Oats Festival, Constitution Hall, Lincoln
Theater, Warner Theater, Indonesian Embassy, and the New York Javits Center.
The Messengers have had the esteemed honor to perform on the same stage with Albertina
Walker, The Williams Brothers, The Blind Boys, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Kirk
Franklin, The Winans, Johnnie Taylor, BT Express, The Emotions, Dottie Peoples, Candi Staton,
Jessie Dixon, Alvin Darling, The Jackson Southernaires, The Bolton Brothers, Willie Neal
Johnson, The Mighty Clouds Of Joy, The Dramatics, Greg Cooper (Jackie Wilson & James
Brown impersonator), William Devon, The Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams, Meme Red,
Georgia Mass Choir, Mississippi Mass Choir, Delaware Mass Choir, Daryl Coley, Tommy Ford
(Martin Lawrence TV sitcom), Johnathan Slocomb (gospel comedian), Broderick Brice (gospel
comedian), etc.
The Divine Messengers has charted on the Billboards several times, nominated for a Grammy,
soul Train Music Award and a Dove award just to name a few.

The group members are Kevin Wheeler Sr. lead vocals, Jamie Abraham 2nd lead vocals, Ernest
Simmons 2nd tenor, Swami White Baritone, Gary Spencer 1st tenor, Kevin Wheeler Jr Drums,
Charles Young on Bass Guitar, Johnny Lindsey Guitar, John Rabil on Piano and DJ on
