Terrell Chafin Closeup Magic

I had the absolute privilege of seeing Terrell “TC” Chafin perform in the Close-Up Gallery at The Magic Castle, which is not only my favorite room in the Castle, but arguably one of the most intimate and demanding performance spaces for close-up magic. You simply do not perform there unless you are truly exceptional, and TC absolutely delivered.

From the second he walked out, his energy was magnetic. He has this rare ability to make everyone feel included and personally connected while simultaneously leaving the entire room completely stunned. His comedic timing is effortless, his presence is vibrant and warm, and his close-up card magic (my personal favorite form of magic) was genuinely some of the best I’ve seen.

What stood out just as much as the magic itself was how intentional and personable he is. Every interaction felt thoughtful, authentic, and engaging. You can tell he deeply cares about creating an experience people will remember and not just performing tricks. He turns a performance into a moment.

Clearly I wasn’t the only one who felt that way because throughout the night at the Castle, we kept overhearing people in line and around the venue specifically raving about TC’s performance. He was absolutely one of the stars of the evening.
