Syn-Sational Smiles Face Painting

I bring with me everything I need for set up. I bring my own tables, chairs, Face Painting or Glitter Tattoo kits, sanitizer, wipes, water, etc. You just point me where you want me to set up and I’ll take it from there.

Depending on the design chose, I can typically face paint about 8-12 kids an hour. I do have the ability to curate and show designs that are only the most simple/fast, less elaborate ones for events/festivals where I need to paint up to 20 kids an hour. I will need to know in advance how many kids are expected to ensure I bring the best option assortment so everyone leaves happy.

I only buy the highest quality, FDA approved, professional face paints, purchased off of reputable face paint websites, that are intended for use on the face/skin. I also bring cosmetic grade glitters to enhance my designs. The temporary glitter tattoos use a latex free skin glue to hold down the glitter and they typically last 3 to 7 days. I use single use glitter tattoo stencils for sanitary purposes.

For Face Painting, it typically takes me about 30 minutes to set up if I’m indoors.
If you are booking me for BOTH Face Paint and Glitter Tattoos, I may need up to 50-60 minutes to set up both kits.
I do not charge for my time to set up and take down. My rate is based on Face Painting time.

If outdoors, I require shade, and more importantly, my paints and glitters cannot be in direct sunlight. If the client does not provide shade or their own pop-up tent (with weights) ready for me before I arrive, then I can bring my tent and I need potentially 45 to 60 minutes to set up outdoors. I have two different sized tents: a 6.6'x6.6' and a 10x10, and ~100lbs in leg weights. If I need to bring my own tent and weights, there is a tent fee.

I’ve been doing face painting and body art since around 2011. I also added Glitter and Matte temporary tattoos to my repertoire circa 2022.

I love adding dazzle, fun and smiles to birthday parties with the ultimate goal to make sure that kiddo has the best birthday, their guests are jazzed up, and they have a core memory they will treasure. I also do corporate celebrations, festivals, Pride events, BBQ’s/picnics, holiday soirées, Halloween parties, baby showers, weddings, and more. I even once had the incredible honor of Face Painting at a celebration of life service for a little 8 yr-old boys’ friends who were grieving him, to add levity and happiness to an otherwise mournful time in their life. It was truly an honor to be a part of that family’s sacred celebration.

I bring a lot of energy, enthusiasm and entertainment to all the parties that I face paint at. I love making kiddos feel happy and empowered with their new body art… and I so enjoy the huge smiles on their faces when their face paint is revealed to them in the mirror! I’ll paint anyone from 3 to 103, and I love it when the parents and grandparents snag a chance in my chair! There really is no age limit to Face Painting, nor do they need to stay in specific gender bounds! It’s fun doing dragons and dinosaurs on girls, and rainbows and unicorns on boys (after all, you need boy unicorns to make baby unicorns, right? 😜)… Face paint is for everyone and it brings out the inner child in all of us! It adds entertainment and excitement to any party.

I do require sufficient light so I can see the faces well of who I am face painting. Additionally, if I am outdoors, I do require shade. My paints and glitters get melted and gloopy when too hot and in direct sunlight. Therefore, if you are hiring me to be outdoors, please position me in a place of shade like an awning or a pavilion, or you provide a pop-up tent for me to be under. If the client does not have a pop-up for me, I can bring my own tent, but there is an additional fee for me to bring and pop up my tent. Also, just being under a tree for shade is not sufficient as debris, leaves and dirt may fall from the tree into my kit, rendering it unsanitary.

On the contrast, if it is really cold and you have positioned me outside, I would greatly appreciate if the client were to provide an heater for my space. Frozen fingers do not render the most ideal face painting results. 😉
