My name is Sydney Small, a jazz and soul vocalist based in NYC.
My style is a fusion of jazz, soul, and R&B, drawing inspiration from RAYE, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, H.E.R., and Sheryl Crow. My performances bring a raw, intimate energy that blends classic and contemporary influences, making her a standout in NYC’s live music scene.
I uphold a seventh-month residency at The Flatiron Room, performing 2–3 nights per week to consistently packed audiences. I work with a fantastic band that can be included or adapted based on the venue’s needs.

Sydney Small & The Soul Set is a dynamic jazz-soul trio based in New York City, blending smooth vocals, warm grooves, and timeless love songs. Led by jazz/soul vocalist Sydney Small, our band brings elegance and energy to every wedding celebration, from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception.
Additional booking notes
We can provide a basic PA system for small events (under 75 guests) upon request, or work with venue A/V teams.
If using your system, we require:
1 Vocal microphone (SM58 or equivalent)
1 DI box for keys
1 mic or DI for percussion/drums (if mic’d)
2–3 monitor wedges (1 for vocalist, 1 shared for band)
2–3 XLR inputs
Sound check access 1–2 hours prior to performance
