I recently had the pleasure of working with Susana at one of our weddings. Susana's music created the perfect aesthetic for our couples' garden wedding. She played through cocktail hour and dinner. About
Born in Havana, Cuba, Susana Frade started to play the guitar at the age of 10 at Manuel Saumell Music Conservatory and continued her studies at Amadeo Roldan Music Conservatory. Frade holds a doctoral degree in Musical Arts (Guitar Performance) from FSU and a master’s degree from UTSA and a bachelor’s degree in music with a major in guitar performance from Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba. Frade has performed at guitar festivals such as International Guitar Festival of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, the 2022 All-Guitar SummerFest at San Antonio, the 2022/2023 International Guitart Festival organized by FIU, and at FSU Prism Festival, among others. Award-winning guitarist, she has premiered several works in Cuba and the United States and currently teaches Classical guitar and other music related courses at college and entry levels. She is member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the Hispanic Graduate Student Association, the International Suzuki Association, and the FSU Classical Guitar Society.
