Summer Pearson

During a performance by Summer, audience members should expect an energetic, entertaining, and intimate experience in which Summer opens up her heart and her life through music/motivational speaking. Summer believes that music can heal and inspire people in powerful ways, and believes she needs to be transparent and real to facilitate such healing and inspiration. During a performance, Summer will share her beautiful, rich vocals while also sharing the experiences that have helped her to connect with the music. Summer takes the audience on a journey that will leave them renewed and empowered.

Once a successful lawyer with a degree in math and Japanese, Summer Pearson has transitioned to an award-winning singer and actress who has the unique ability to inspire diverse audiences. Summer’s inspirational album “Love Letters” debuted in the Top 50 of the Billboard Gospel Charts, and two of its singles “Promised (Never Alone)" and "I Need You" have penetrated radio internationally, with prominent radio plays in the U.S., Europe, and Canada. “Love Letters” is available on digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play. Summer’s performance highlights include featured soloist for the syndicated National Cherry Blossom Parade, soloist for the annual Caring Awards in honor of benevolent officials, such as Retired Four-Star General Colin Powell, Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and former NBA star Dikembe Mutombo, and performer for the “Thanks Obama” event on President Obama’s last night in office. Summer’s recent acting roles include Dionne in "Hair" at the Kahilu Theater in Waimea, Hawaii, and the Abbess in Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” and multiple roles in of “Everybody” at Howard Community College.

Summer has received several awards, including the 2022 Maryland Teacher of Promise, 2021 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Musical Theatre Intensive Outstanding Vocalist and Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Runner Up, 2021 Arts & Humanities Award at Howard Community College, 2018 ACHI Magazine Songstress of the Year, and 2018 Winner of the National Cherry Blossom Festival's Sing Into Spring Competition.

Fueled by a passion for helping children thrive, Summer has also committed her talents to support youth through various roles, including vocal coach, tutor, youth ministry leader, and student assistant for children with special needs. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Japanese from Emory University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law, an AA in Music (Vocal Performance) from Howard Community College, and a Master of Arts in Teaching, Music Education from Loyola University Maryland. She is so grateful to be a Maryland Teaching Fellow and Central Scholarship award recipient and is excited to be a new music teacher!

Summer resides in Ellicott City, MD, where she performs her most treasured role as mom to her two amazing sons, Pierce and Gabriel.
