Stu Peterson Music

Stu and Jay Peterson perform a diverse set of music, combining classic songs from the Jazz Songbook with favorites from Motown, the Beatles, and the Eagles. The duo provides live music tailored for a wide variety of events, including birthday and retirement parties, wedding cocktail hours, corporate functions, backyard celebrations, and community events.
Stu sings and plays bass and guitar. Jay also sings and plays piano and melodica.

About Stu Peterson
Stu Peterson sings and plays piano, bass, and guitar. He has worked as a single performer and has played with many bands over the years.
In 1980, Stu wrote and sang “I’ll Cry For You” which reached #26 on the Billboard Dance charts. In 1982, he co-wrote seven songs for singer Mary-Lu Zahalan’s debut album “Think of Me” which garnered her the 1983 Juno nomination for ‘Best Female Vocalist’ of the year. In 1983 the Canadian rock band Toronto recorded his co-write “All I Need” for their album “Girls Night Out” which is also on their “Greatest Hits” album and still receives extensive radio play. Stu has backed up numerous people over his career from Elvis impersonators to the real Chuck Berry.
Stu continues to write and perform. Presently, he is also a member of the Eclectic Vinyl Orchestra ((link hidden)).
About Jay Peterson
Jay grew up in Guelph, where he learned drums, bass, trumpet, guitar, and piano through lessons and school. During high school, he played in various groups and ran a small jazz band, all while bussing into Toronto on weekends for piano lessons. He went on to graduate from the University of Toronto’s jazz piano performance program, where he studied theory, ear training, arranging, piano technique, silent film accompaniment, and film scoring, which included collaborative projects with animation students at Sheridan. For the past six years, Jay has been teaching piano while completing a Master of Library and Information Science.
More recently, he has been refurbishing a 1976 Fender Rhodes electric piano.

We supply a small PA system for smaller venues.
