Stillhouse Junkies explore the worlds between roots, bluegrass, Texas swing, blues, and rock. Our free-flowing musical interplay and improvisation make every show unique.

February 23, 2026From high quality covers to foot stomping originals, the still house junkies put on a show at our wedding that will never be forgotten.
They were easy to work with, easy in communication, requests, and set up/ take down. Even with 220 guests, there wasn’t a guest who could resist getting up and dancing, and that made our day!! Highly suggest this team.

December 30, 2025We have hired the Stillhouse Junkies twice and are really looking forward to having our third fest with them in May. First, they are really fine human beings loved by their hometown of Durango, Colo., where they put on 250 free driveway shows during COVID - (250!) Second, they are flexible and easy to get along with during set-up at the time when you are busy with plenty of your own last-minute items to attend to. And third, they are also great houseguests if you are providing accommodations.
They are all impressive, virtuoso musicians, and each member of the Junkies can sing and solo during the show. They play mostly original high energy bluegrass-adjacent folk, providing plenty of opportunities for dancing and having a rollicking good time. Shows always include on-stage banter, so there’s never a dull moment.
If you are looking to have a fun event that people will be talking about for years, you can’t go wrong with the Stillhouse Junkies.

Based in the Southwestern Colorado town of Durango, the trio consists of
founder Fred Kosak on guitar and mandolin, longtime member Alissa Wolf on

Formed in 2017, Stillhouse Junkies have released four full-length albums. Their
most recent effort, 2025’s The Ballad of Charlie Avalon, is an ambitious
concept album featuring narration by newgrass icon Sam Bush. The band has
also released a series of singles featuring collaborations with the legendary
Tim O’Brien, renowned fiddler Ross Holmes, and popular songwriter Rachel
Baiman.
As they tour relentlessly across the United States and abroad, Stillhouse
Junkies are gaining a reputation as one of the most exciting bands in the

Bluegrass Festival, Rockygrass, MerleFest, and ROMP, and their busy

Stillhouse Junkies travel with an in-ear monitoring system, which is very self contained, but they do request that the hiring party provide a PA system (speakers & mic stands) and an engineer to mix live, front of house sound. Please reach out directly for a stage plot. Staging is preferred. Lighting is also preferred, but only specifically required if the event takes place after dark outside.
