Overview

“Bristling with vocal, instrumental & songwriting talent with hard-driving live shows that are just plain danceable fun, High Lonesome is the latest breath of fresh music to spring from Colorado’s legendary bluegrass scene," Veteran Bluegrass journalist, John Lehndorff describes the band in his review of their latest album. Named "Ten of the Top Colorado Bluegrass Bands” list (Denver Westword, Nick Hutchinson) this Front Range band combines a pleasing mash of dobro, fiddle, guitar, bass, & mandolin.

An amazing performance!

High Lonesome performed at our daughter’s wedding and to say it was epic would be a huge understatement! The positive feedback we received from family and friends is still coming in and we just can’t say enough about this band! If you don’t hire them for your event, you are truly missing out.

High Lonesome Crushed It

We had the pleasure of High Lonesome playing a bluegrass set for our private client party. They were the perfect vibe and entertainment on a Colorado afternoon. We hope to have them again in the future! All the band members were extremely professional and just authentic people. If you get a chance to see them play definitely make it a priority!

Nicest, most talented, professional pickers!

I can't say enough about how amazing High Lonesome made our weekend! We hired them to play for my brother in laws birthday and they were so easy-going and professional! They got to know him/picked his brain about music he likes and created a play list incorporating those likes! They even "learned" a new song on the spot because our guests anniversary turned out to be the same night and so they had their own little dance moment with their wedding song! Chuck and Lily were so wonderful to get to know and Dylan (shoot I forgot the mandolin player's name-sorry!) were some of the best pickers we have ever heard. If they don't get to famous for us, we will be having them play at as many parties in the future that we can afford! Such a great experience!

Music That Matched the Moment

We had the pleasure of working with the High Lonesome Bluegrass Band at our outdoor event, Wine at the Mine, and the experience couldn’t have been better. From the very beginning, they were incredibly easy to work with—professional, flexible, and fully attuned to the feel of our event.

Their performance struck the perfect balance between music with meaning and the authentic, folky bluegrass sound we were looking for. The band’s deep, rich tones—especially when paired with the slide guitar—set the mood beautifully and blended seamlessly with the natural outdoor setting. The music created an atmosphere that was both vibrant and soulful, perfectly capturing the spirit of our evening.

We would definitely recommend High Lonesome to anyone looking for a folky bluegrass band that delivers not just outstanding musicianship, but also an unforgettable vibe. They helped make our night truly special.

Outstanding bluegrass wedding band

High Lonesome did an amazing job at our wedding reception this past weekend. They were easy to work with, played the perfect mix of original and cover songs, were appealing to a wide audience age range (18 months to 93 years), and helped create memories that will last a lifetime. Do not hesitate in booking them for your wedding, party, or event!
