I consider myself an artist. I began my higher education in stage management at UCF after failing to get into any acting program and therefore determining my fate as not someone who would be acting. I had already successfully loved stage management and fell in love with directing. Aft working in the costume shop at UCF, I decided that I loved the design aspect of the theater. I changed my major, began working costume construction in the UCF and even landed a assistant position at the Santa Fe Opera a semester earlier than required. I loved it almost as much as I loved being in New Mexico.
Truthfully enough, I was not ready for Santa Fe. My skills were not up to par and because of my inexperience, I wasn't ready for this endeavor.
But with every downfall is a lesson. I realized that by staying in costume design and construction I would probably have to move around a lot and I would not experience I stable life. I decided to move my focus to something that is a reliable job. Becoming a cosmetologist,
I decided that Aveda was a good place for me. They really care about your mental and physical welfare or not only the clients but also all the students and educators. They understand the important in exerting positive energy in order to give that to the client. They believe in farthing your education. That it never stops. Helping the environment on a world but on also a community scale. Aveda can be like a strict mother, testing you with discipline and ultimately shaping you into as a professional, wellrounded, artist. Not everybody survives this journey. I this really for you? Will you wake up every day loving your job?
I graduate from Aveda the second week of may. I cannot wait to get out and really experience this industry.
