Hello, my name is Steampunk Jess and I am apart of Twizted Thingz, a small family owned entertainment business in Des Moines, IA. I twist balloons with my other half Sydney Storm at our local farmers markets in the area and now I would like to offer my balloon twisting services for birthday parties and other events.

October 20, 2024Jess and her husband showed up a full hour before the event, got set up with very little instruction (my fault- I was setting up a parade!) the 10k+ people that showed up for the parade were no match for these two! The wait was short and they got everyone exactly the animals and other twisties they wanted. Professional, courteous and perfect for our event. They traveled two hours to be here, and hopefully they’ll do it again next year!

Gig length: 30 - 240 minutes
Birthday Parties- Range from 30 minutes to 2 hours typically-depending on age of birthday child. I typically give out a special customized Happy Birthday Certificate to the celebrated child. The celebrated child also gets a unique balloon bouquet/sculpture. You also get to C-Y-O (Create-Your-Own) Balloon List for the birthday party. I will also ask for you to provide any special theme or colors of the birthday party so I can try to coordinate.
Serving the Des Moines, Iowa metro and surrounding areas. Although, not a native to the area-as I grew up in the Quad Cities area (Davenport, IA & Bettendorf, IA), I still go back to visit frequently. My background is in Early Childhood and I love to help people and make smiles. Aside from doing balloon work, I also serve in the community by working with a client that has disabilities.
You may see me at the local Farmer's Markets and Events with my other half Sydney Storm (a great Comedy Hypnotist, Magician and Balloon Twister as well) and our 5-almost 6 year old daughter(she also knows how to twist balloons already!) We often twist together as a family, however-we also do twist separately as well. Please let me know if you need any other services beside balloon twisting.

I bring my own setup. Indoor-my balloon bag, pop up hamper and small folding table. For outdoor events-its best to be in shade, otherwise I have a 6'x4' or 10'x10' canopy setup.
Please allow enough room for a line for the children to form or enough space in front that they can sit if they would like to watch.
