Overview

What is motivation, and how do we find it regardless of our circumstances? How can we steel ourselves to face the challenges that fear and overpower us? Is it faith that we rely on, and if so what or who do we put our faith in? It's right there hidden in plain sight, we need only open our eyes to it!
After waiting for almost three years on the national heart transplant list, I began to understand what it meant to be focused. As my health declined steadily, so my motivation increased with every new issue that came up. Through constant testing, amputation of my right leg, followed by my left foot, and numerous other surgeries, my will to see this through increased.

About

I hail from Wales, moving to the USA in 1995 after accepting one of those job offers I 'couldn't refuse.' I worked in the aircraft manufacturing business for over 30 years. Between (phone number hidden)5, I also served as an officer in the British Army reserve, graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1986.
I joined Raytheon Aircraft company in the US, before moving on to the Bombardier Business Aircraft as Director of Operations. Still, with Bombardier, I ran the Learjet manufacturing operation in Wichita, Kansas, before moving to Greensboro as Senior manager of manufacturing with HondaJet.
After two heart attacks in 2005 & 2007, the second one requiring an emergency double bypass, I fell seriously ill on 2/8/2008, and by 8 pm that evening I was on life support. At around 11 pm, my family was informed that I had about an hour to live. What happened was the most incredible experience of my entire life!
My recovery that time, from double pneumonia & sepsis, was no surprise to me at all. What followed was a fantastic journey that saved my life and cleansed my soul.
Through several amputations, various surgeries and illnesses, that finally resulted in a heart transplant. It was all preparing the ground for me to attend seminary and following that my ordination.
I spend my time now as a 'professional' volunteer, helping whoever I can, where ever I can. A pledge I made to my heart donor following my successful surgery. 'We' are committed to serving the least, the last and the left out.
There is nothing that we can not accomplish; for me, it is my faith, my family, and accepting this journey I had begun in 2005.
Motivation, I can tell you what motivated me.......w
