S.O.U.L Ballroom

You will experience a variety of skilled talents that was pursued over the years, from modern jazz to the elegance and grace of Ballroom and Latin dancing. You will be blown away with the unique style that I teach and dance when the music plays. I consider my voice to be expressed from the movement of what my body feels when the music touches my soul, the stage is my canvas, and the audience are there to read my story.

Jaymesa Michie began her talents at the age of 2. Her training began at the YMCA in Silver Spring, MD. For 12 years she was trained in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Modern dance. Attended Barry University in Miami, FL, where she received her BFA specializing in Dance Theatre. Through her college years, she became part of the O' shea Couture Modeling Troupe, INTuition Dance Troupe, part of the choir at Elizabeth City State University and selected as a vocalist for the ECSU ensemble. She then transferred to Barry University and then became part of BURDE Dance Company (soloist for certain pieces) under Yvonne Goodridge, Barry University Dance Team, Barry University Cheerleading Squad, and Opulent Image Models, Inc.
She then took her talents to New York, NY. For two years, she was trained under Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the Broadway Dance Center. She then became part of The Brooklyn Cyclones Dance Team, Brooklyn Bolts Dance Team, and the ChoreoJoey Project. If she wasn’t dancing, she was teaching others how to dance Hip Hop and Modern Dance (Fit4life NYC and Dancing Classrooms) and then became introduced to Ballroom dancing.
Moved back to Maryland and became part of the Dance Institute of Washington Dance Camp as well as a ballroom dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Center in Silver Spring, MD. She also became a finalist for the Washington Wizards Dance Team, Nominee of Miss Maryland USA 2013, part of the Baltimore Fashion Week 2017, New York Fashion Week 2017 and Stomp the Runway 2017. Since she enjoyed writing as well, she became fond with writing poetry where one of her poems was selected to be published in a book called “Stars in our Hearts”. She enjoys teaching others how to build self- love and enjoy the craft that they’re in.
