If Everyone Were Like You

Overview

I provide solo guitar performance for small intimate venues such as private parties, restaurants, and small clubs. I can perform in the background or in a small concert setting. I play a Brazilian jazz, jazz standards, acoustic blues, finger style, and world music on both acoustic and lightly amplified jazz guitars with and without bass and drum accompaniment.

In addition I can provide lead and rhythm guitar tracks for studio sessions either working from home or from the studio.

Perfect for cocktail party

Chris’s solo guitar playing was the magic backdrop for my retirement party. Smart arrangements of beautiful music, which set the perfect vibe. His speaker setup filled the space without overtaking conversations. As a musician, I appreciate how challenging this can be and how crucial it is for an event’s success. Well done, Chris!!

Chris was easy to communicate with, on time, reliable, and did a terrific job for our block party. Would definitely hire again! As a hostess, received many compliments on his music.

Great relaxing music for our pooside party!

Chris was communicative and easy to work with. He arrived early to set up and was friendly and prepared. He played great background guitar music throughout the evening that set the perfect ambiance for our outdoor welcome reception and dinner at the Westin La Paloma in Tucson.

What to expect

This is relatively quiet instrumental music that is suitable for background ambience or small concerts. Although it is amplified, it is not suitable for larger venues or dance venues. I will arrive with one or two small amplifiers, two guitars, and a microphone. The microphone can be used with a guitar amplifier if the client would like to make any announcements etc. I can provide up to 3 sets of 40-45 minutes each. The music is from a fixed repitoir and is played on nylon string and electric jazz guitars. Some of the pieces have recorded accompaniment available (bass or bass/drums) depending on the nature of the venue and the preferences of the client.

About

I have been a musician for many years starting in high school. I played in various bands and studied jazz and classical music at a conservatory for 3 years. Coming to the realization that music would not be the best career I switched to engineering school and worked as an engineer before retiring a few years ago. During all this time I maintained my involvement with music so that now I am able to spend more time performing etc. The main emphasis in music for me has been playing finger style Brazilian jazz using a nylon string classical guitar and jazz guitar. My repitoir involves both styles. During the last 7 years I have also been involved with world music and I can incorporate various world music styles into my repitoir if desired.
