Overview

As a Motivational Speaker Bol Gai Deng shares with his audience his compelling story from when as a boy of seven his Father and other men in his Christian village were slaughtered by Moslem marauders, with women and children taken into Slavery. After several years in slavery, Bol hopped on a train, traveled 800 miles to Khartoum, and there, by God's Divine Providence, Bol met an Episcopal Missionary who helped him to find a new home in the America Cradle of Liberty, Richmond, Virginia, where Patrick Henry made famous "Give me Liberty!"

About

Born in the Kush area of modern day Sudan in a Christian village. At age 7, Moslem marauders rode into town, killed my Father and other adult men, taking women and children into slavery. I was sold as a slave to a Moslem cattle farmer. After 3 years, I saw a train, and jumped onboard, then rode 800 miles to Khartoum. I was blessed to find an Episcopal Missionary who arranged for me to travel to the Cradle of Liberty in America, Richmond, Virginia. In Richmond I learned English, completed High School, Junior College, College and a Masters Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. While I have a good life in America, my heart breaks for my people back in Kush (South Sudan). I am working to bring Liberty with Peace to my people, over 9 million who are refugees from their homes due to near constant war for many years.
