Shirel and the New Image has enjoyed a thirty year legacy pleasing audiences in the Denver Metro area and Front Range. Originally as Freddie and the Soulshakers circa 1989, the talented Shirel Anderson eventually took the helm, leading the band to its current configuration as Shirel and the New Image.

A 'new image' was indeed to be donned as the soul music label was no longer adequate to describe the richly textured gospel, heartfelt blues, Latin, rock and ecstatic R&B influences coursing through the band's live performances. All of this, along with the soul and funk classics which have worked so fabulously from the beginning.

With a pulsating, dynamic and funky rhythm section consisting of Lewis Burl (drums) and Jesse Reddic (bass & vocals), gifted keyboardist, trumpeter, vocalist Alicia Orcutt along with their newest addition, Donny Dark providing his brand of spellbinding guitar work, Shirel and the New Image clearly defies the "dance band" label as listeners and dancers alike share an equal fascination.
