About

Shani Johnson is a successful businesswoman who knows what it means to struggle, to survive, and to ultimately thrive.
Johnson was raised in St. Louis by her mother and grandparents. She attended college at Clark Atlanta University where she pursued her studies until she got pregnant during her junior year when she was just 21 years old. Johnson continued with her education during her pregnancy and even became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Tyler Cassell was born in St. Louis to a strong mother who was determined. When Tyler was only 1 years old, Johnson earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from St. Louis University. After graduation, Johnson held numerous professional positions in the mental health area, then married her husband, Orlando, and had her second child, Kennedy Leigh.
Work was unsteady and several professional and personal disappointments created significant financial struggles, but Johnson never let that get in the way of her education, her family, and her dreams. She continued her education, and earned a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Maryville University.
After receiving her Master's Degree, she relocated her family to Nashville, Tennessee. Johnson and her family were able to enjoy their first home, financial security and a joyful family life rooted in the word of God. She continued to balance the life of a busy working wife and mother, having two more children, Landon Alexander and Bailey Lael while working in various roles in the rehabilitation and insurance fields.
Soon after Bailey was born, Johnson took another leap of faith and moved to New Jersey, accepting the invitation of her high-school best friend, Kimora Lee Simmons to serve as the Vice-President of Operations. Johnson was the instrumental element in the growth of a multi-million dollar enterprise. In 2013, after five years of employment with Simmons, Johnson decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an author, life coach, and motivational speaker.
Johnson's purpose is to challenge women of all ages to shift their mode of thinking to adjust, adapt, and overcome to rewrite the greatest story ever told. Johnson launched SCJ Enterprises as a vehicle by which women and girls can be encouraged, inspired, and uplifted by someone who's "been there." The first project of SCJ Enterprises is the inspiration memoir, "Bent but Not Broken" where Johnson openly shares her journey from brokenness to success. Johnson's unique and personal message of hope, faith, and purpose is sure to be a source of strength for anyone who's been down and out and in need of a second, third, or fourth chance.
