Liven up your party with her energetic dance!
Shahlaa was amazing! She arrived early and set up quick. She really wow'd the crowd with the sword dancing and Happy Birthday dance. I would definitely book again! Thank you!

Shahlaa did an awesome job entertaining the group. She was very interactive with our group, everyone had a great time. Very Professional and personable.
What to Expect
Audiences can expect a thirty five minute, dynamic performance featuring everything from upbeat drum solos to slow and meditative balancing acts. When it is desirable, Shahlaa will get audience members up to dance with her and join in on the fun.
Shahlaa started belly dancing at Serena Studios in New York City when she was an undergraduate.
She truly fell in love with the dans du ventre, however, under the tutelage of Melina Pavlata, of the Daughters of Rhea and Moody Street Circus, here in Boston.
For Shahlaa, belly dance is all about finding joy in movement and sharing that joy with her audience. Whether you want to sit back and watch or get up and dance with her, Shahlaa's energy will reach you.
Additional Booking Notes
Prop work requires some clear space to keep the audience safe. If you would like veil, sword balancing, or tray and candle balancing, this is a requirement.
Shahlaa has portable speakers if there is no sound system at the venue.

A typical set list includes an energetic entrance such as "I Put a Spell on You" by Natacha Atlas, a medium-paced song with a more fluid feel for veil such as "Bashraf" by Mario Kirlis, a slow meditative song for balancing such as "Oh Om" by Galactic Caravan, and a lively drum solo by artists such as Raquy and the Caveman.
After the performance set, Shahlaa typically plays 3-4 songs during which she tries to get the audience up dancing with her. Songs used for this part of the show include "C'est la Vie" by Khaled, "Simarik" by Tarkan, and "Illa Habibi" by Amr Diab.
That said, playlists are easily catered to client's wishes. Shahlaa is happy to put together a more traditional or more tribal playlist upon request.
