June 2, 2023Simply amazing
My father passed and Sendy sang for him at an intimate New Year’s Eve event at our home. He joked when it was over asking if Sendy could sing at the funeral. ( he had a great sense of humor) . 10 days later he passed and we had a wonderful celebration at Georgetown University for him. Surrounded by fronds and family and Sendy and her band, it was perfect. We made a playlist, she added in the rest- so tasteful- and brought the most amazing collection of musicians with her. We will never forget it. Hire Sendy. She has a beautiful voice and spirit:)

Thank you so much! It was an honor to be asked to sing for your father’s ceremony, and I feel fortunate to have met him. I’m glad that you and your lovely family enjoyed the music. Nice meeting you!!

January 1, 2023Amazing. Period
Don’t look further. We had a Wonderful New Year’s eve small celebration for my father who is in hospice. All he asked for was to have a woman sing the songs he loves. We set up a cozy private concert and Sendy and her accompanist brightened up the room so much more than we could have imagined. Because it was so small and intimate it was important to have not just a vocalist but a guest and they were wonderful. She told stories and incorporated into the conversation seamlessly and it felt like having an old friend in the room with us. Such a blessing. Also they both are SO talented. Amazing. Thank you Sendy!

November 12, 2022Outstanding Performance at Crimson Whiskey Bar in DC
Sendy lit up this DC hot spot — performing for 4 hours with 5 brilliant accompanists (bass, drums, keyboard, guitar and saxophone) — and making this evening very special for 75 college classmates from 21 states gathering in DC for a fun and interesting weekend. Five stars!!!

June 26, 2021Sendy Brown's the best in town!
I had the privilege of bringing Sendy Brown out to our apartment complex to help elevate a cocktail evening into something a bit more special for our residents and Sendy did a wonderful job! Sendy had an innate ability to read the room, transitioning seamlessly between well known pop-songs into more jazzy standards with ease and prowess.
Our residents not only enjoyed her musical abilities, but the passion that she poured into every song selection.
If you're looking for a talented and passionate performer, look no further than Sendy Brown!

About
Sendy is a vocalist with an amazing voice and a warm, personable style that builds instant rapport with the crowd. Her gospel roots serve her well when singing R&B and Pop grooves, lending authentic soul to each song. Also, Sendy's many years as a jazz vocalist infuse everything she sings with an exuberant air of creativity in response to the moment - making her a true entertainer.
She first started singing at age five in her father's church in New Jersey, then went on to formalize her music education at Howard University in Washington, DC. Next, Sendy started collaborating with other musicians and singing in local DC jazz venues. "That's when my education really began," she recalls. "I'd sit in with bands or sing at open mikes just to hone my craft and develop my sound."
Sendy expresses this sound on her debut CD, "Secrets of the Soul." A collection of jazz standards reworked with Sendy's style and arrangement ideas, "Secrets of the Soul" garnered international airplay and positive reviews in the Washington Post and other publications. This illustrates the quality of her voice and the caliber of her accompanists.
But what Sendy brings to the microphone that sets her apart is passion. Whether it's joy or pain, love or loss, Sendy puts her heart and soul into each line, lyric and song - making the experience unforgettable. Backed by an incredible ensemble of musicians, Sendy Brown creates a total mood, perfect for the discriminating music-lover who desires to have more than just average background music at their event.
