About

My journey as a musician began at 10 years old, learning both piano and trumpet. Those early lessons introduced me to music theory, rhythm, and the fundamentals that continue to shape my playing today.

At 12, curiosity got the better of me and I picked up the guitar, teaching myself by learning songs I loved. A year later, I sat behind a drum kit for the first time and immediately knew I had found the instrument that felt most natural. Drums weren't just another instrument to learn—they became the one I wanted to spend every free minute playing.

By 15, I had saved up for my first drum kit and was playing with friends from school in garage jam sessions, casual performances, and anywhere we could make some noise without getting kicked out too quickly. I taught myself the basics through rudiments, rhythm exercises, and countless hours playing along to my favorite records by ear, starting with simple 4/4 rock grooves before gradually tackling more challenging music.

Since then, drumming has been a continuous learning experience. Every new artist, band, and genre has offered something different to study and incorporate into my own playing. From the groove of funk and reggae to the energy of rock and punk, the feel of jazz, and the rhythms of Latin music, I've always enjoyed exploring what makes each style unique while developing a versatile approach behind the kit.

Today, my playing is built on a strong foundation of groove, musicality, and adaptability. Whether performing live, learning note-for-note arrangements, or improvising in the moment, my goal is always the same: support the music, keep learning, and have fun doing it. After more than 25 years behind the drums, I still approach every rehearsal, performance, and practice session with the same excitement I had when I first sat down at that kit.
