June 9, 2024We thought he did a great job!
For my mother's celebration of life she had requested a piper to play some of her favorite songs. He did a wonderful job and everyone loved the songs he played. He was there ahead of the requested time and also enjoyed interacting with our grand kids that were there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
thanks,

What to expect
A highland Scottish bagpiper can play as guests are arriving at a venue: a funeral service, a wedding or lead guests or grieving family members into a memorial. A piper can play the lament at a graveside, and he or she can announce the wedding of a new couple. A birthday isn`t complete without Happy Birthday on the pipes as the cake is brought in. Or an evening isn`t complete until the piper plays down the sun. The possibilities of adding that something special to your event can be delivered by a bagpiper.
About
There are moments in life when the sound of the bagpipes is the perfect note to celebrate a birthday, commemorate a beginning, an end, or those special occasions when you want to deliver an impact or leave a lasting impression.
A Highland bagpiper stirs emotions at funerals and life celebrations. At weddings, a sense of joy. Special occasions such as birthdays or surprise parties become instantly memorable with a bagpiper. Burns Suppers, graduations, New Year’s parties, a sales event, or marching in head table guests; a bagpiper delivers impact.
I’ve been playing the bagpipes for 40-years. I am the Exec. Director of ScotFestBC: The British Columbia Highland Games, producer of The Irish Fusion Festival and a former director of the venerable BC Pipers' Assn. I formerly played with Vancouver's Triumph Street Pipe Band (III), the Sir. John A. MacDonald Pipe Band, the Halifax Police Pipe Band and the RCMP E. Division Pipe Band (BC). Testimonials
“Thanks so much Mike. Remembrance Day is such an important part of our school year; your contribution was greatly appreciated. I’d love to have you come back next year.”
– Rob McLeod
Mike played at our Mom’s Celebration of Life. I told him a bit about Mom, she had been a WAC in WW2, and the mood we wanted and he played just the right selection of tunes. Many of our guests commented on his skilled playing. Mike was prompt, friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend him. Thanks again Mike!

“Mike played at my daughter’s wedding in Crescent Beach, White Rock in September 2012. He is so personable and accommodating – he also has wonderful ideas about songs and placing that make him a delight to work with. Our entire wedding party walked on the beach to our dining venue – Mike was there early and piped the entire wedding party and then stayed playing to ensure that the wedding party was safely inside the venue. He also then stayed for a little longer playing, much to the delight of the entire restaurant, and people simply passing by.”
– Ryan and Breena
“I’d like to thank you, Mike, for your moving musical performance at the Scottish wedding ceremony I officiated at Furry Creek. While I incorporated Celtic ritual and readings throughout the ceremony, it was truly your professional piping that gave it a magnificent final touch!” “The best ceremonies are those that tug at our heart strings. Yes – I may be biased (as I too am Scottish!), but what instrument could be more emotionally stirring and invigorating than the pipes?!” “I hope to work with you again in the future.”
