March 28, 2021There may be other present-day vocalists who can own classic jazz repertoire at LeMieux's level, but I haven't heard them. You'd probably have to reach back to the mid-twentieth century to find comparable performances. Aptly supported by seasoned accompanists, her every note is surprising and satisfying.
