What to Expect
Santa Jason provides a custom experience for your individual needs. A typical private home visit consists of Santa arriving, passing out candy canes or other treats, and then posing for photos with family members. Typical private home visits are 15 - 30 minutes. Longer visits may be set up as well - Santa can visit for up to 8 hours. Corporate events work similarly - Santa can hand out gifts to employees, pose for photos, and will even speak a little and talk. He can lead everyone in Christmas carols. Santa is also a theatrically trained singer. Need a really beautiful rendition of "O Holy Night" that will stun and excite the crowd? Ask for "Singing Santa" services. Santa Jason's commitment is to make magic & memories for you and your holiday event. Certification: Holds a BA in Santa Clausology from the International Santa Claus University, and is a member of the National Red Suit Society.
When not donning the famous suit, Jason Marks is an award-winning professional singer, actor, and composer whose work has been seen on stage both locally in Virginia, and across the country.
Mr. Marks trained and worked as a professional Santa Claus at Macy's department store (Herald Square), and has years of experience as a character actor, and a master of transformation. He has the distinction of being one of the youngest professional Santa's in the United States, as well as holding a Bachelor of SantaClausology from the historic International Santa Claus University. He is also a member of the Red Suit Society.
In addition to his stage experience, Jason serves as an adjunct faculty member for SPARC, the School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community, where he has taught voice and acting for almost 15 years to students ages 5 - 18. He has a passion for working with young people, and also works with youth through the Weinstein JCC, and other youth programs in the metro Richmond area.
He was the 2012 recipient for the Theresa Pollak Prize for Excellence in the Arts (Richmond Magazine) for theater, the winner of the 2010 Your Big Broadway Break Competition (NYC), and is a 3-time NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) winner, classical and music theater divisions.
Additional Booking Notes
Requirements: Sturdy chair (no folding chairs, wooden/metal or otherwise). No rocking chairs. A solid wingback, or solid chair with no arms is fine. Remember, Santa wears a heavy suit, and must support the weight of not only himself, but two children or adults on each knee. Do not place Santa by an open fire. While a fireplace always looks nice, homey and "Christmasy," it's not good for Santa's health to be sitting next to an open fire. Keep the event room between 65-70 degrees. Please provide and offer Santa cold bottled water - his suit is hot and lined with real fur. A private and reserved parking spot should always be made for Santa. Please do not ask him to park in a parking garage and walk far to an event. He is the guest of honor, and must be given proper courtesy for his services.
