Santa David

I am not a great singer, but will join in if a group is singing Christmas songs or carols.
While I can be very gregarious and outgoing, I also know when it is better to be quiet, and subtle, when a child shows concern, or nervous attitude. I've never taken a "____ crying hysterically in Santa's lap" picture, but prefer to give those children enough space to make up their own minds how to approach that big guy in the red suit, and have always had best results with that approach.
I live by the Santa Code (yes, there is one) and will never be seen in suit either smelling of smoke, or slightly tipsy, and absolutely never the slightest bit drunk, but I have been known to take a tiny sip of adult beverages, in order to make a toast.
My goal is to always have as much fun as I am able to bring to any event, and to make sure everyone there has as much fun as I do.

I first "Played" Santa when I was 9 years old, wearing my red pajamas, a red watchcap, and a beard I made out of cotton quilt batting, so I could read to my family the "Poem from Santa" my mother wrote every Christmas eve. Had no idea it would become an annual occurrence, but loved the effect!
I got my first Santa suit at 16, with wig and beard, and everything just mushroomed from there.
I'm very happy that, now, my own hair and beard are mostly pure white, and I don't have to put on a fake beard at all.
Now, I no longer "play" Santa, but honestly feel that, in spirit, I "become" Santa, and feel the part whole heartedly.
