Overview

As a multi-talented motivational speaker, I lift my voice through words and song to liberate women by giving them the tools they need to tear down emotional roadblocks and build healthy self-esteem. I am a patient advocate for women’s health and I share the personal lessons I have learned after triumphing over low self-esteem when I lost all of the hair on my scalp and body at the age of 25 as a result of the autoimmune disease, Alopecia Universalis. My message of self-love and self-acceptance is a universal lesson that resonates with audiences young and old and focuses on our true beauty which resonates from the inside out.

About

Sandra Dubose is clearly on her way to becoming an international, multi-media success. The Bald Beauty
Queen of Self-Esteem is a dynamic motivational speaker, author and smooth jazz vocalist with an inspiring personal story that has made history and national media headlines making her a local celebrity in North Carolina.

Sandra has been a patient advocate for women’s health issues ever since the age of 25, when she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Alopecia Areata. This incurable disease resulted in the loss of all of the hair on her scalp and body and her self-esteem. She had to learn firsthand how to heal emotional wounds, overcome obstacles and rebuild her confidence. As an expression of her liberation, passion to inspire others, and a testament of her courage and star power, in 2011 she competed bald in a statewide beauty pageant. Sandra made North Carolina history when she was crowned 2011 Mrs. Black North Carolina, the first bald beauty queen of the state. She shares her personal life lessons and the six principals she used to shift her life from being a victim, to victorious in her life changing book, “My Crown and Glory, It’s Not About the Hair; Six Fundamental Principles to Heal Emotional Wounds and Build Healthy Self-Esteem.“

“Powerful, honest, humorous, inspiring, informative, and entertaining” are just some of the words audiences have used to describe her life changing presentations. Sandra is a professional performing artist with years of experience in the spotlight as an actress, emcee, radio personality and recording artist. This multi-talented singer/songwriter provides a unique benefit to event coordinators over traditional speakers. Upon request she is able to provide special entertainment at events. With her soulful, rich, alto vocals, Sandra uses the medium of music to uplift and invoke healing through her original songs.

With her undeniably charismatic personality, and sense of humor, Sandra is sought out nationally to deliver keynote speeches, facilitate workshops and host events at conferences, corporations and schools. She is a mentor and role model for teen girls in her community and as a mother to her two teen daughters. With the ability to customize talk topics to meet the needs of her audience, Sandra is called on most often to speak about the tools needed to build healthy self-esteem, women’s health/ autoimmune disease awareness, managing hair loss for women and to empower victims of domestic violence. Through her words and music, Sandra empowers others and she leads the way to self-love and liberation by being the change she wants to see in the world.

Influences and inspiration

I am a huge fan of Iyanla Vanzant ever since 1992 when she wrote her first book, "Tapping The Spirit Within." There are several other speakers that have added value to my life but her ministry had a huge impact on my personal growth starting at the age of 18. Her transparency in the way she has done "the work" to fix the broken pieces of her life made me feel connected to her and understood. It inspired me to want to share my story and help other women and teens who were hurting like me. I pray that my life and legacy can be an open book that others will draw strength, courage and wisdom from.
