November 10, 2025Hired for our daughter’s wedding
Sam was excellent! We hired her to perform songs of my daughter’s choosing at her wedding in Wilmington. The performance was perfect. Sam performed the songs during the service when all else was quiet and she nailed it. We received many compliments on our choice. The city function below did not work, Wilmington NC.

About
I have been writing music since I learned my first three guitar chords (G, C, and Csus) in 2009. What started as a way to occupy my mind while I learned new chords turned into a beautiful surprise in processing the world around us. Though I didn’t learn guitar until 2009, music had been a part of my life since that fateful day when I was in the 5th grade when my Mom couldn’t handle my drumming on the counter any more and the only way she could think of to stop it was to put me in band class (big mistake! The drummer only got more ammunition!). It was around that time that I started writing poems, and they became the backbone that helped me to song write when those first few chords were taught to me by a friend at BAND CAMP (very cool, I'm aware).
I have been playing live music for a very long time and tend to land in a blues/rock/pop genre for my own music. However, for gigs I love to play anything from Paramore, to Adele, to Lake Street Dive! I spend a lot of my time singing Jazz gigs, whether by myself or with a band, and don't think I'll ever get tired of singing the great jazz standards that built the genre. Basically, I love (almost) all music and just love getting the opportunity to make music whether it be by myself or with other amazing musicians!
I also have a band, called Sam Marsh and the Swamp Monsters, if you have any interest in booking the whole band! (@SamandtheSwampMonsters on instagram)
