Sally Marvel is a Chicago-based sideshow and burlesque performer and producer. She is one of approximately 50 known female sword swallowers world wide! She has performed on WGN-TV and recently appeared as a fire dancer on FOX’s Empire in the episode Sound & Fury.
Sally has performed across Chicagoland and the U.S. independently, with Zhantra Entertainment, and with the world renowned Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow Revue. Locally, she is the resident performer and producer for “Vaudeville” Thursdays at Bordel. Vaudeville was voted one of the hottest burlesque shows in Chicago by the Thrillist with specific mention given to her sword swallowing, fire eating, and human pincushion acts. She was also pictured in The Chicago Reader’s 2014 “Best of Music and Nightlife” write up.
Sally’s acts are insured by Specialty Insurance Agency. She adheres to the safety protocols and standards outlined by Specialty Insurance Agency as well as the safety standards of the broader fire performer community. Proof of insurance is available upon request.
Additional Booking Notes
A private space for wardrobe changes and the storage of equipment is required. Certain staging specifications may be required depending on the the types acts and the level of performer participation requested by the venue. An assistant or stage hand may be required to assist with moving heavy or large pieces of equipment. For fire performances, the performer brings an assistant to handle fire safety.
