WHY HIRE SAGE STRINGS?
We are a unique string group based in the Central Valley providing our clients and their guests with a truly unique and personalized experience. We perform a wide range of styles from traditional classical, rock, pop, country, etc. If there is a specific song you have in mind, we work with a professional arranger and have it arranged for you at a small fee. There is no song we cannot play!
The musicians of SAGE Strings are some of the highest-trained and sought-after professionals in the music industry. They have played and recorded with artists such as Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Justin Timberlake, Hugh Jackman, Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, and many more.
What do you require at the venue?
A chair for each musician (for solo violin, the musician will stand). Shade is also a necessity for outdoor events, as the wood instruments cannot be exposed to direct sunlight.
How do the musicians dress?
We wear formal black attire unless requested otherwise.
Do you take breaks? Do we need to provide you with a meal?
After each hour, a short break is necessary. For performances of 3 hours or more, we request a meal, but it will be consumed during one of our breaks out of sight from the guests.
Can you move from one place to another?
Yes. We are very mobile and are able to move locations with ease. This is generally the most common for weddings when transitioning between the ceremony and reception sites.
WEDDING SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
Can you give me music suggestions?
Absolutely! The only music you'll need to be concerned with is if you want something special or specific. Many couples have a special song to play before the ceremony or during the first dance. Others love having certain selections for each part of the wedding processional. Others love us to choose for them so it is one less thing to do. No matter where you fall, we are here to help ensure your special day goes off without a glitch.
Do you attend wedding rehearsals?
We generally do not attend rehearsals. The group can be booked to attend for an extra fee. Most commonly, we meet with the coordinator and/or the officiant prior to your guests' arrival.
Should the group be listed in the program?
It is common to list the group in the program, but not required.
Do you perform at receptions as well as ceremonies?
Absolutely! Some couples have us at the ceremony only. Some both the ceremony and reception. Some at only the reception. It is your special day - our job is to help create the event you imagine.
When do I need to have my music chosen?
As with most things, the sooner the better! But, we ask that final selections be made a week prior to the event for special requests.
Should I have music before my ceremony?
Our group will begin playing 30 minutes prior to the start time of the ceremony. This will provide beautiful music as your guests arrive.
BOOKING QUESTIONS:
How soon do I need to book a date?
We are currently taking bookings for this year and next. A signed contract and deposit are required to secure the date and time. The remaining balance is due 48 hours before the performance to ensure our musicians are properly taken care of.

about SAGE Strings: THE live music specialists
SAGE Strings are based in the Central Valley of California. With our unique location, we are able to provide music throughout Nevada and California.
If you're looking for live music in Central California, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, the Bay Area, Reno, Paso Robles, Southern California, or anywhere in between, we have the perfect group for your next event.
Whether you're looking for the beautiful sounds of solo violin, solo cello, a string duo, trio, quartet, or larger ensemble, we have the perfect group for any budget or size event.
SAGE Strings has extensive experience playing for all types of events. We specialize in music for weddings, corporate functions, galas, funerals, house concerts, receptions, retirement celebrations, graduations, religious (church) services, and recording sessions, and so much more.
SAGE musicians have spent years honing their craft, earning degrees in music, and have performed worldwide with world-class musicians and acts. We look forward to helping enhance and elevate your next event with the sounds that only live music can provide.
We can practically play anything you can think of. Whether traditional classical, pop, country... we do it all.
Please know that a larger group does have more capabilities than a smaller group. For example, a solo violin will likely just play the vocal melody of a pop song. A string quartet on the other hand can add all of the additional harmonies that make that song unique and recognizable.
For our solo violin option, there is also the option to have the violin play with backing tracks. However, there is an additional fee for this service.
