I met Ryan through my late brother’s untimely passing in 2021 and he is a founding member of The Billon Foundation- a BC nonprofit aimed to bring free and affordable mental health services to comedians.
Ryan has performed many times at fundraiser comedy shows for our special foundation, and every time I am blown away by Ryan’s presence. He is a true professional, incorporating our message- incredibly hilarious writing along with some of the very best crowd work I’ve seen.

December 10, 2024I’ve had the pleasure of watching Ryan perform at various community events, and I’ve always been incredibly impressed by his expertise and craft. So, when he agreed to be a special guest at our 2024 Home Sharing Provider Awards—a community and corporate hybrid event—I was thrilled.
Ryan was a true professional throughout the entire coordination process. He was prompt, communicative, and punctual. When event challenges arose, his adaptability and professionalism truly stood out.
During his set, Ryan expertly balanced his humour to connect with a diverse audience, including the Minister, government staff, members of the disability community, and corporate professionals. His creativity and wit had the entire room laughing and enjoying the program.

Being that Ryan has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair, he will need accessible access to the stage. If that's not available he does travel with 10 foot ramps l That may be useful depending on venue. He also requires access to his soundboard as he uses a wireless head microphone for all his performances. He will also require access to a handicap accessible washroom.

I fell in love with stand-up comedy because of Billy Connolly. When I was a kid, I used to listen to his albums over and over again committing them to memory. I also used to watch a lot of stand-up comedy late-night TV shows and comedy specials. I always had a really great sense of humour, and I wanted to share my thoughts as a performer like they would on TV. My other major influence is my late friend Matt Billon. In my opinion, he was one of the most underrated and most talented comedians that this country has ever seen. I spent over 14 years on the road with him performing as his opening act and sometimes headliner act. He taught me everything I know about standup comedy. I miss him every day. I would highly recommend anyone who loves stand-up comedy or is thinking about becoming a comic to check out his material online.
