Ron Getz offers a broad range of classical and contemporary styles to choose from, whether you want traditional wedding ceremony music, jazz standards, Beatles’ songs, or any of your favorite songs. He brings a blend of virtuoso classical guitar repertoire and contemporary fingerstyle guitar to add that special touch to your wedding or any special event. Famous throughout Northern Michigan and the world, with over 40 years of playing experience, you can be assured of a flawless performance and a treasured memory.

Ron Getz, guitarist and composer, studied at Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music. He has performed with a variety of jazz greats, including Arthur Blythe, Billy Hart, John Scofield, Steve Grossman, Bill Evans, Branford Marsalis and Marvin “Smitty” Smith (from the Jay Leno Tonight Show Band). His CD release Ego State received critical acclaim in Jazz Times and Down Beat. He has recorded and produced numerous CD projects under his own name and with other artists in the jazz, blues, rock and pop genres. He has also shared the stage with blues greats B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Jeff Healy, Johnnie Lang and Kenny Wayne Sheppard. Ron has shared the bill with Edgar Winter, Leon Russell, Eric Burden, Electric Light Orchestra and Jefferson Starship. He has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe and is one the hardest working and busiest musicians in the Traverse City area. You can find Ron playing all over the region with many the area’s best singers and players performing dance and listening music ranging from Motown, Pop, Blues, Funk, Swing and Jazz.

Ron can provide his own sound and lighting as necessary. As a solo artist, minimal space and an electrical outlet is really all that's needed.
