Rochelle Underdue brings over 16+ years of experience in Hip Hop, House, Whacking, Modern, and choreography, blending natural movement, technical training, and cultural storytelling. Her journey includes serving as a danceWorks alum and manager at FSCJ, City of Duarte, CA Dance Director, and guest choreographer and teaching artist at LaVilla School of the Arts, Jacksonville University, the University of North Florida, and the University of Florida.

She created the first Hip Hop and House curriculum at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, leading the program for three years, and represented the U.S in Romania as a Hip Hop dance ambassador with the U.S. cultural exchange program, Next Level. You may have seen her perform at Tacos & Tequila, Jax River Jams, RAM, and other events inside and out of Jacksonville.

Founder and creative director of In the Midst, Rochelle curates healing-centered dance spaces rooted in heart, culture, and community. Now in its 10th year, the platform holds achievements such as dance coordinated the James Weldon Johnson Hip Hop Festival and Love Fest (2022–2023), guest performance at TEDxJax: The Overlap (2024), and produced community showcases at RAM (2019–2023). ITM continues to cultivate innovative ways to offer dance training and meaningful experiences. Collaborations still take place with Downtown Jax Sip n’ Stroll, Art Walks, and organizations to expand performance opportunities for local dancers in Jacksonville.

Rochelle holds a B.A. in Religious Studies and Fitness Management and is committed to preserving Jacksonville’s living dance history through the lense of dance anthropology in honoring the cultural memory and lived experiences that molded her into the dancer and figure she is today.

Clients must provide adequate space that meets minimum stage or floor dimensions suitable for dance performance, whether indoor or outdoor. A reliable sound system and music playback equipment (Bluetooth, auxiliary input, USB, etc.) must be available and compatible with the performance needs. Clients should also provide appropriate audience seating or viewing arrangements and clearly communicate the purpose of the gig (event type, setting, and goals).

Adequate costume/change space for performers is required, along with access to water and light food for dancers. I require sufficient setup time for warming up and preparation for myself and any accompanying dancers; this setup time is not included in the performance rate and must be scheduled in advance.

Additional dancers can be included for an extra fee of $200 per dancer, negotiable depending on the scope.

Other requirements, such as lighting, props, safety measures, accessibility, parking, and load-in logistics, can be discussed and agreed upon based on the event specifics.
