Robot Teammate and The Accidental Party

So, I'm really bad at remembering birthdays and most other dates of importance, and I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if it's related to a friend or work colleague, but my mom? No excuse. And of course, I completely forgot, which shouldn't have happened since she was the one who called me to remind me in advance, and even suggested that I send her a card - man, I'm an *^#hole - long story short...I had let the time lapse and there was no present, no card, and no time to send anything out in time.
And then I, bing, I found Robot Teammate online, wrote to them of my lament and that I needed something special for my moms and they delivered in a big way! The Teammates created a personalized video birthday card for my mom that literally made her tear up with joy - - it was the perfect balance of sincerity and humor...and the fact that it was an improvised musical - mind blowing!

Robot Teammate improvise songs and scenes to create stories that transcend traditional improv. Beautiful melodies and harmonies compliment their own unique sense of humor. Its amazing to see a group of great actors able to make up lyrics and build a story on the spot with such agility. It feels risky and keeps the audience on the edge of their seat and they always manage tie together even the most off the wall audience suggested topics. Their energy is better than a party band and the challenge of what they achieve on-stage won't be lost on people who are unfamiliar with the conventions of traditional improv.

My sister hired Robot Teammate + The Accidental Party to perform at my birthday as a surprise and it's probably the best gift I've ever received.

This is going to sound vain, but they brought me in front of everyone, interviewed me, and wrote a song about it on the spot. I was totally overwhelmed by it. Afterwards they did one of their more typical improvised musicals (which was also outstanding).

I got asked about the group continuously for the rest of the night, and some coworkers at the party brought it up at the office several times over the next week.

Would def hire these folks again for my party, or maybe my sisters ;)

As an LA Westside dweller, few things can get me to brave the Friday night traffic to Hollywood... But robot teammate and the accidental party easily makes the list. I've been hooked since attending my first show at the iO West, laughing and cheering with the players and the audience, so I hired them to play a private house party for me and my co-workers. The players have an amazing on-stage chemistry that allows them to transition seamlessly between each other's creative and hilarious narratives. If you haven't experienced being a part of the interactive audience at a robot show, you're missing out!
