Hello Everyone! I'm Robert Acevedo and I've been singing all of my life, most of the time, it was only for myself, but eventually I formed a few Jazz/Swing, Pop, Rock and Oldies bands, and finally started singing in front of an audience. I've performed in small clubs and also in large theaters. I love singing and people seem to like my voice. I'm looking for gigs of any kind. I know several musician friends that I can also pull from. At the moment, I'm concentrating on forming a trio that would consist of a pianist, guitarist and myself. I studied Music History at UCLA, and I've also done some TV work. Although Jazz Standards are what I've typcially done in the past, I can sing well in a variety of styles, including Classic Country, Oldies and Classic Rock. Music has always been one of my biggest passions, so, hopefully, I can be a part of your next event. The Holidays are also coming up, and I'm also very experienced in that genre. I'm looking forward to the gigs that I'll, hopefully, be getting on Gigsalad!
My past influences are the great male vocalists of the past like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. I'm also a big fan of the Big Band and Swing Era. I'm also like traditional Jazz performers like Miles Davis and Stan Getz. Since I can sing in a variety of styles and genres, I'm also a fan of Classic Rock bands like Chicago, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, R&B greats like Stevie Wonder, and Classic Country artists like Hank Williams Sr., Buck Owens and Johnny Cash. I also love Classical Music. As a performer and lover of music, my tastes are varied.
