Joshua Reaves, Rising Son’s main videographer, is a self-made, professional filmmaker. He began his career as an actor at the age of 16, starring in roles such as Shrek in Shrek the Musical and Jean Val Jean in Les Miserables at the Kensington Arts Theatre. He continued acting, working his way up to roles at the Renaissance Festival of Maryland. While his passion for theatre remains, he acquired a curiosity for a role behind the camera during his sophomore year in college. He continued to progress and study the craft on his own using Youtube and following different videographers. Since then, he has been a videographer for companies such as Tres Belle Weddings, Tolman Media, and Covenant Life Church. Not only has he become an excellent wedding videographer, but has also worked with many large organizations such as the Frederick Douglass Foundation, The WOW Church, NorthStar Church, Belma Kosmetik, and more. He specializes in making cinematographic reels and short films. He is passionate about creating quality work for all of his clients and hopes to continue to grow his business to also support the creation of quality films. Joshua is also a family man, who enjoys cooking with his wife, Avanti, playing multiple instruments at family events, especially the guitar, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Most of all, he is driven by his desire to spread the love of Christ not only through his business but by the way he carries himself through everyday life.
