We offer a variety of bands, be it a duo, trio, or quartet or even larger. Our focus is on presenting a wide variety of jazz from across the years in a setting that will greatly enhance our client’s event. Each group consists of the finest musicians in Ottawa with each member possessing decades of experience in the music business both here in Ottawa and across the country. We have an extensive song list and can accommodate most requests. We hope to share our music and expertise with you in the near future.

From classics to inventive renditions, they curated a setlist that perfectly matched the atmosphere we had envisioned and played phenomenally all night long! The hiring process was quick and easy, and the band was very accommodating of our requests which was greatly appreciated. Thank you for making our event a memorable experience for everyone in attendance. Five stars without a doubt!

Much more than “just” a trumpet and flugelhorn player, Rick speaks through his horn(s) in a manner that really connects with his audiences and his fellow musicians. Rick creates beautiful melodies when he improvises. In sum, it is such a joy to listen to Rick make music!

June 26, 2023If I want to hear great music in Ottawa, I always check to see where Rick Rangno is playing. When I heard Rick’s amazing band at a wedding, I hired him for a launch party and the music elevated it to a world class event. He is a fantastic trumpet player and flugelhorn player. He can play anything from an up tempo swing piece to a soft and sensitive ballad. His band is comprised of some of the finest musicians in the city. I have also heard many of his superlative musical arrangements. I would recommend Rick Rangno’s band with much enthusiasm and without hesitation!

Rick has been performing professionally for over 40 years and has played the trumpet across the country from coast to coast. He has toured Canada, the USA and Europe and has performed with Gladys Knight, Martha Reeves, the Funk Brothers, The National Arts Centre Orchestra and many others over his career. He can be heard on numerous recordings and is also known in his role as a composer and arranger.
