That’s the opening line of Better Late Than Never, the debut album from Richie Trotter and the Motor Company—and it’s Richie’s bold declaration to the world. After years as a dynamic, in-demand drummer lighting up Nashville stages opening up for heavyweights like Eric Church, Kane Brown, and even Nelly (yep, the rapper!), Richie knew it was time to step into the spotlight with his own music. Transforming his backyard shed into a full-on recording studio, he teamed up with his tight-knit crew of Nashville’s finest players, giving birth to “The Motor Company.”
Richie Trotter and the Motor Company (RT/MC) blend the best of Rock, Pop, and Country into a sound that’s uniquely their own. Think Tom Petty’s raw songwriting and vocal grit, Def Leppard’s soaring harmonies, Ed Sheeran’s pop polish, and the genre-defying versatility of Zac Brown Band. There’s no limit to what they can pull off.

For performances, we will need at least a 20'x20' area to set up in and perform from. Preferably some sort of solid staging or flat, sturdy surface like concrete (not on grass/dirt!). We will also need a PA system to project our sound to your crowd, and some sort of lighting to make sure the show can be seen. This will be provided by the client, or factored into our booking price to cover rental expenses.
